I won’t argue with Norman about his post HERE, but I also think it’s fun to make some wild guesses for next year CWA International Dagger and compare them with the final shortlist when it is published. Here is my list:
- Outrage, by Arnaldur Indridason. TBR
- Sweet Money, by Ernesto Mallo, READ
- The Quarry, by Johan Theorin. TBR
- Dregs, by Jørn Lier Horst. Wish list
- Until Thy Wrath be Past, by Asa Larsson. Wish list
- Temporary Perfections, by Gianrico Carofiglio. TBR
- The Winter of the Lions, by Jan Costin Wagner. TBR
- Lethal Investments, by K O Dahl. TBR
- Trackers, by Deon Meyer. TBR.
- The Unlucky Lottery, by Hakan Nesser. Wish list.
- The Boy in the Suitcase, by Friis & Kaaberbol. Wish list.
- The Caller, by Karin Fossum. TBR,

Those look like very good candidates, José Ignacio. It’ll be interesting to see whether you are right.
Thank you Margot
Interesting! You make some bold guesses. I think the judges will have a hard time this year if the publishers submit all these titles for the prize.
It is always difficult to judge, and judges will certainly have it hard this year.
We only disagree on only three books out of twelve!
I chose Jo Nesbo [Norway], Jussi Adler-Olsen [Denmark], and Liza Marklund [Sweden] over your K.O. Dahl [Norway], Karin Fossum [Norway] and Jan Costin Wagner [Finland].
It is time to stop guessing and read some of these.
No big differences though, Norman. Won’t say more, and get back to reading. We have work ahead.
