Reykjavik Rotterdam (2008)


R RReykjavik Rotterdam was released in Iceland October 3rd 2008. The Leading roles in this thriller are held by Baltasar Kormákur and Ingvar E. Sigurdsson, written by Arnaldur Indridason along with the director Oskar Jonasson. It is on screen in Spain as from today.

At the EDDA Awards in November 2008 the film received 5 Awards. Director of the year: Oskar Jonasson, Screenplay of the year: Arnaldur Indridason and Oskar Jonasson, Editor of the year: Elisabet Ronaldsdottir, Sound design of the year: Kjartan Kjartansson, and Music: Bardi Johannsson

Synopsis: Like a fish on a dry land, Kristofer is stuck in a dull everyday routine, working as a security guard. He got fired from the freight ship he worked on, when he was caught smuggling alcohol. Faced with money problems, he is tempted to accept the help of his friend, Steingrimur, who manages to pull some strings to get his old job back. He decides to take his chances one last time on a tour to Rotterdam.

  1. >I would love to see this film. I looked at the IMDB link, but couldn't tell if it is likely to be released in the UK. There was nothing there about subtitles either (that I could see) but from the first page of that video you have posted, it looks as if there are English subtitles.
