In the Electric Mist, 2009 (Dans la brume electrique) by Bertrand Tavernier will be released in Spain on Friday, 11th March. It is based on a novel by James Lee Burke starring Tommy Lee Jones. The blurb reads: While on an investigation into a series of grisly murders, veteran detective Dave Robicheaux (Jones) navigates his way through the Louisiana bayou and the dark, sultry world of New Orleans mobster "Baby Feet" Balboni (John Goodman). Layers of corruption and long-dead secrets reawaken grudges and a lethal alliance A tangled web of killings, past and present, converges in a shocking showdown with stakes that become deeply personal to Robicheaux and his family. Featuring music from five-time GRAMMY Award-winner Buddy Guy, this film takes you deep into Cajun country’s hidden worlds.

I have enjoyed some Tavernier’s films, namely Life and Nothing But (La Vie et rien d’autre), Capitaine Conan, Ça commence aujourd’hui). Maybe I’ll go and see it.

En el centro de la tormenta, 2009 (Dans la brume electrique) de Bertrand Tavernier se estrenará en España el viernes 11 de marzo. Está basada en una novela de James Lee Burke y protagonizada por Tommy Lee Jones. La propaganda dice: Nueva Iberia, Luisiana. El detective Dave Robicheaux sigue la pista de un asesino en serie cuya debilidad son las chicas jóvenes. Mientras vuelve a casa después de estar en la escena de un nuevo crimen, Dave conoce al glamuroso actor de Hollywood Elrod Sykes. Sykes se encuentra en la ciudad rodando su nueva película, que está coproducida por uno de los líderes locales del crimen organizado, Baby Feet Balboni. Es el propio Sykes quien le cuenta a Dave que ha visto un cuerpo tirado en un pantano, el cadáver descompuesto y encadenado de un hombre negro. El descubrimiento saca a relucir recuerdos del pasado de Dave. Y tiene la sensación que los dos casos están relacionados. Pero a medida que Dave se acerca al asesino, el asesino también se acerca a Dave y a su familia…
