Female writers have always played an important role in British crime fiction. Agatha Christie, Dorothy L. Sayers, Ruth Rendell and PD James, have marked the path from detective fiction to mystery thrillers. Among the actual British female crime writers, I’m interested in Belinda Bauer, S J Bolton, Ann Cleeves, Frances Fyfield, Elly Griffiths, and Denise Mina (particularly her Garnethill trilogy). You can find below my reviews of
- Darkside by Belinda Bauer
- Raven Black by Ann Cleeves
- The Crossing Places by Elly Griffiths
I am glad that some of my blog friends participate in this challenge. And it is true, some of the very best writers of crime fiction are women.
