The purpose of the Pick of the Month meme, hosted by Kerrie at Mysteries in Paradise, is to identify our crime fiction best read for each particular month. You can click HERE to find the contributions of other fellow bloggers.
This month I have read and reviewed six crime fiction books:
- I Will Have Vengeance (Hersilia Press, 2012) by Maurizio de Giovanni. Translated from the Italian by Anne Milano Appel. Original title: Il senso del dolore.***
- The Rage (Vintage 2012) by Gene Kerrigan*****
- The Drop (Orion, 2011) by Michael Connelly*****
- 31 Noches (Suma de Letras, 2012) de Ignacio Escolar***
- Ishmael Toffee A Novella (Tim Town, 2012) by Roger Smith****
- Black Skies (Vintage, 2012) by Arnaldur Indridason. Translated from the Icelandic by Victoria Cribb. Original title: Svörtuloft.*****
For me the pick of the month is a tie between The Rage, The Drop and Black Skies.
To break the tie only thing I can think of is to share the honour as follows: The Rage takes the Award for the best new-to-me author; The Drop, the best book in English; and Black Skies, the best in translation.
Clever solution, Jose Ignacio! I loved all three of your triple choice, so I am sure I would have had exactly the same problem.
Thanks Maxine.
José Ignacio – You had some very, very fine reads this month! I like your solution to your dilemma, too – very clever indeed. 🙂
Thank you very much Margot. 🙂
Black Skies is having a very good month!
A very good month indeed, Rich. Thanks
