The Chestnut Grove of El Tiemblo (Avila)

El Tiemblo is located at the foot of the Gredos Range and is crossed by the Alberche river. The Castañar (chestnut grove) is accessed by a perfectly signposted dirt track at the beginning of the town if you are coming from the Madrid-Ávila road. In total, four kilometres of gentle, low-difficulty track. (Taken from Guia Repsol)

  1. Oh, that is just lovely, José Ignacio! I’d imagine it’s a perfect place to see the autumn foliage. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Jose Ignacio: The area looks peaceful and beautiful. Autumn leaves have long fallen and been raked up in my backyard and there are now several inches of snow covering the ground.
