Following my previos post 10 Spanish Crime Novels in Disguise I’ve come up with the following list by Spanish-American writers that may well fall within this category (in chronological order):

3. Crónica de una muerte anunciada (1981) by Gabriel García Márquez (Chronicle of a Death Foretold)
4. Luna caliente (1983) by Mempo Gardielli (Hot Moon)
5. La pesquisa (1994) by Juan José Saer (Inquiry)
6. Plata quemada (1997) by Ricardo Piglia (Money to Burn)
7. Los destectives salvajes (1998) by Roberto Bolaño (The Savage Detectives)
