- How a Gunman Says Goodbye (Mantle, 2013) by Malcolm Mackay (A)
- The Inspector Barlach Mysteries (The Judge and His Hangman + Suspicion) (The University of Chicago Press, 2006). Translated by Joel Agee. Original titles, Der Richter und sein Henker and Der Verdacht by Friedrich Dürrenmatt (A) & (C)
Pick of the Month
I really enjoyed McBain’s Sadie When She Died and Dürrenmatt’s The Judge and His Hangman but I’ll go for Mackay’s How a Gunman Says Goodbye as my favourite for having found a proper and original way to narrate this story.
