The Shortlist for the 2014 Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Novel Award was announced yesterday night and can be found here

I’ve read and reviewed four of the books shortlisted

Rubbernecker (Bantam Press, 2013) by Belinda Bauer

The Necessary Death of Lewis Winter (Pan Books, 2013) by Malcolm Mackay )

The Chessmen (Quercus, 2012) by Peter May

Eleven Days (Faber & Faber, 2013) by Stav Sherez

The other two books in the shortlist are:

A Dying Fall (Quercus, 2012) by Elly Griffiths

The Red Road (Orion, 2013) by Denise Mina)

The winner will be announced on Thursday 17 July at the Award ceremony during the Opening Night of the Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival, Harrogate.
