A Tale of "Two" Smillas

I’ve just started reading Miss Smilla’s Feeling for Snow by Peter Høeg, one of my outstanding tasks, and I would like to share with you the following paper: A Tale of “Two” Smillas by Kirsten Malmkjær, Centre for Research in Translation, Middlesex University. You can read the full text here, though I’ve only skimmed through it until I finish reading the book. My edition, by the way, was published in Great Britain in 1996 by The Harvill Press.

  1. So glad to read that – I had always wondered about the different titles, and had read that the Danish author much preferred one of the two, but was over-ruled by his publisher. Very interesting to read about all the other differences too.
