The Shadow of Ararat (2017) Documentary Film by Miguel Ángel Nieto


Synopsis: The Armenian nation is scattered all over the world today, after the genocide perpetrated in 1915 by the agonizing Ottoman Empire and the rising Turkey which provoked its near extinction. 70% of Armenians still live outside Armenia, mainly in France, Spain, the United States and Russia. Outside their country, in their long diaspora, they have proved capable of succeeding in all fields of art, sport, music or business. This documentary follows the trail of the most internationally recognized Armenians, while at the same time it goes dip into the traditions, places, current border conflicts and hearts of the men and women which make up today that dispersed and indomitable nation.

It opens in Spain this coming 10 February 2017.
