Charles Aznavour – La Boheme–In Memoriam

OT: Ferenc Puskás

_20181001_152957For those who don’t know who was Ferenc Puskás, he was a Hungarian footballer and manager, widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. (Source Wikipedia here). His memory just came to my mind, when seeing the film ‘The Silent Revolution’ (‘Das schweigende Klassenzimmer’), 2018 written and directed by Lars Kraume. Case you haven’t seen it yet, I very much liked it. When you see it, you’ll understand why I’m talking about Puskás in this post. The enclosed picture was taken during the course 1960-61, I’m the one next to him.

The Real  Madrid line-up in the League 1960-61 was comprised mainly by Vicente; Marquitos, Santamaría, Casado; Vidal, Pachín; Canario, Del Sol, Di Stéfano, Puskas y Gento. Coach: Miguel Muñoz.

The 1960–61 La Liga was the 30th season since its establishment. The season started on September 11, 1960, and finished on April 30, 1961. Real Madrid won their seventh title. Real Madrid, with its victory, started a spate of five consecutive titles.
